2007 Winner

"When receiving the Design a t-shirt contest advert in our store mail, i thought to myself 'finally a contest for me'.  I worked hard to develop a look that reflected the current styles in the store and came up with a design i felt like was a sure win.  After submission and seeing the other shirts, i wasn't confident that i had a good enough design.  When i got the email from Dr. Martens stating that my submission was selected as the winner for the 2007 holiday tshirt, i seriously freaked out right there in the store."

"This was the single greatest thing to happen to me as a designer. My dreams had started to finally come true.  Having the company wear my shirt and getting a year worth of Docs' was plenty was way cool.  When i found out that i was going to sundance city (Park City) Utah for the Slamdance film festival it was all too good to be true.   As time flew by i was in the winterwondlerland of Park City before i knew and words cannot describe the fun that is Sundance.  Getting to view movies with audiances of 50-100 people and then hearing from the directors and cast members was amazing."

"Slamdance was defo the vacation of a lifetime and i cant thank Dr. Martens and Journeys enough for making it happen.  Since the contest and outstanding rewards of free Dr. Martens and a free winter trip, i have had the privelage of continued work with Dr. Martens and am currently working on apparel that will be sold at journeys.  This contest is not to be slept on.  If you are into art or design, this contest could go a lot further than just being worn by all of your co-workers at Journeys.  The best of luck to all of you this year."
